Description
You may have noticed that I do not sign my abstracts. I do not because that would dictate an aspect from which to view it and I don't want to superimpose my view on you. Please feel free to rotate, crop, or enlarge to your heart's content!
I have worked diligently to develop a set of skills and practiced them for years to achieve a look or a goal, but in the end its all magic to me; I do not know exactly why one technique succeeds better than another, or, in the case of a reactive medium like alcohol inks, what little bits of dust or lint will drift onto the surface of a painting and react with the inks as I move them or drift down on them as they dry, actually becoming a part of the result. It is "magical!" When I zoom in after scanning I have to determine what is intrinsic to the painting and what will be a distraction if you choose to enlarge the painting for printing. I feel like an explorer as I zoom into each painting, exploring tiny 'worlds' of texture and colors only seen by intentionality. The painting, in its entirety, has one visual statement. The intricacies of enlargement reveal another.
I hope you like it and thanks for looking.
